Like Stone Mt. Park, This area was set-up to preserve a massive chunk of granite. Unlike Stone Mt. Park this place has not been commercialized. Panola Mt. encompasses 633 acres, most of which is only available through guided tours (770-389-7801). For runners, there is a fitness trail, 1 mile in length. Runners can also use the other two self-guided trails bringing the total mileage to about 3.
Directions: From Atlanta go approx. 20 miles east on I-20. Use Panola Road/Exit #37. Turn right off exit onto Panola Rd. Travel approx. 3.7 miles on Panola Rd. At the end of that 3.7 miles, Panola Rd. reaches a "T-intersection" with GA Hwy 155. Turn left onto Ga Hwy 155(south). The park entrance is approx. 2.5 miles on the left.
