ATLANTA RUNNING TRAILS

Jones Bridge (CRNRA)

Much like it's neighbor on the Chattahoochee (the Medlock Bridge unit).  This is a small but vital extension of the CRNRA.  The trail is of the "out and back" variety, it follows closely along the shore of the river for a little more than a mile.

Directions:  From Atlanta, take I-85 north to I-285.  Go west on I-285 to Peachtree Industrial Pkwy.  Go north on Peachtree Ind. Pkwy.  Exit at Holcomb Bridge Road and turn left (go west).  Once you cross the river turn right onto Barnwell Road.  The park will be on you right.

Parking:  As you come into the park, the first parking lot you come to is the one that allows access to the long trail.  There is a short trial off of the other lot.

Brent Harris notes about this trail:
Actually there are about 4.5 miles of trails here.  The prettiest, and longest, goes off from the right (as you face the river from the parking lot).  About half of that run is along the river, the other half is a convoluted, confusing loop through the deep woods.
